A productive afternoon had managers, specialists and students of the University of Informatics  Sciences (UCI) during the analysis of Variable 6, referring to the Social Impact of the center in all spheres, with a view to the definitive preparation of the File to be delivered in September to the National Accreditation Board (JAN) for subsequent institutional evaluation.

The debate, in which Ph.D. Raydel Montesino Perurena, deputy rector  of the UCI, was chaired by Ph.D.  Rosa Adela González Noguera, in charge of the task, and was presented by Ph.D.  José Ortiz Rojas, Director of Training at the institution, and coordinator of this part of the file.

It was analyzed through 36 strengths and all weaknesses what has been done and what is left to be done to the UCI for the benefit of society, among which computerization, the implementation of the NOVA Operative System to achieve technological sovereignty and the Future Editions Contribute to the scientific work. In addition, the University has 97 international bilateral agreements.

It is also meritorious, among others, the creation of the National Center for Distance Education, the results of students who teach classes in the middle and upper-middle levels, sports achievements and the Movement of Amateur Artists, the organization of the Programming Contest ACM-ICPC and the Global Game Jam, as well as the degree in Engineering in Computer Science has a Certificate of Accreditation.

It her  intervention, Ph.D.  Rosa Adela expressed that it is a variable in which they present many strengths and we have to capture all those that are missing because it is the one that gives brilliance to the University, since they are the results that are placed at the service of the Cuban society.

He reiterated that the report, with all the suggestions, will be delivered in September 2017 to the JAN, but for this, we have to apply the suggestion of the deputy rector  to put all the statistics that support our work. The workshop cycle closes, "he said," now we have to perfect the file, with the corresponding Improvement Plan.

He reported that during the six workshops there were 704 participants, although some are repeated, among managers, specialists and students, who have the task of making known to others in which the UCI is immersed.

In order to obtain a higher evaluation by the National Accreditation Board, after the self-assessment, the file will be presented in the University Council, and in March and April of the current year an internal evaluation is planned.
