The National Center for Distance Education (CENED), based at the University of Informatics Sciences, has the mission of contributing to the development and excellence of distance education in Cuba, increasing its competitiveness through dissemination, continuous improvement and creative application of information and communication technologies.
The academic services that are offered in person and remotely throughout the country and abroad are:
- Advice for the design of programs in the virtual distance modality and for the design, production and evaluation of courses and educational resources to support this type of training.
- Advice for the design and execution of scientific research projects, development work and innovation processes related to the application of technologies to the undergraduate and postgraduate training process.
- Courses and postgraduate training and training on various aspects of development of the virtual distance modality, including:
- Design, management and evaluation of virtual courses.
- Design, production and evaluation of digital educational resources.
- Tutorial organization and evaluation of distance learning.
- Network training technologies and methods.
- Specifications and standards on e-learning and ICT.
- Educational data mining and learning analytics.
- Administration of educational platforms.
- Master in Virtual Education.
