The University of Informatics Science held in the Grand Prix Chess Tournament Blitz 4
Blitz, the modality of chess used for games or quick games, was the chosen to perform the Grand Prix 2016-2017, which is held monthly from September to choose the champion, of all three first Places of each competition. In the case of a player who finishes between the first three positions is previously classified, the next best placed player will get the slot, winning the classification automatically. This Friday 9th took place the Great Prix Blitz 4, corresponding to the month of December, with the participation in 17 tables of 35 chess palyers of the University of the Informatics Sciences (known as UCI) and (10) from other provinces of Havana, Artemisa and Matanzas, and three referees. In Tthe organizational work of this event we had the International Referee Isbel Herrera del Sol. In the Blitz 4 participated three ladies and chess players of different ages. As on previous occasions, it was played by the Swiss 9-round system, governed by the current FIDE laws, with a rhythm of three minutes and two seconds of bonus per move. Results of the Great Prix of Chess Blitz 4: First place: Wilver Vargas Rodríguez (Artemisa) Second place: Joan Mandina Verdecia (UCI) Third place: Raynner Amaro Alfonso, master FIDE titled (Artemisa) Fourth place that qualifies for the final competition: Alfredo Casal Roses (Havana) Regarding the previous events, they were classified for the final championship because of their results, in the order that are written next: -In Blitz 1 (September): Reider Cruz de la Osa (UCI), Raúl Pérez Medero (Havana) and Reinerio Gómez Armeu (Havana). - In Blitz 2 (October): Jose Antonio Canina Ruíz (Artemisa), Calixto Cardevilla Mendoza (Havana) and Reineiro Gómez Armeu (Havana), already classified in Blitz 1, so he qualified for the Final Daynner Hernández Castillo. In Blitz 3 (November): From artemisa Cristian Vitier Vázquez, Wilver Vargas Rodríguez and Roberto Salgado Seguí. Blitz tournaments have been held at the UCI; But for the first time a Grand Prix is done in this modality. The contest is reported for the Elo Blitz list of January 2017.
