On May 9th, on the occasion of the 97th birthday anniversary of the outstanding revolutionary fighter, Celia Sánchez Manduley in Granma Province, the III Scientific and Methodological Conference opened at the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), dedicated to  the National Hero José Martí and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.

The research area, which focused on interdisciplinarity, was attended by the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of the institution, Dr. Sc.,  Natalia Martínez Sánchez;  Director for Academic affairs and methodological support,  Dr. Sc.,  José Ortiz Rojas;  and the Director of the Center for Innovation and Quality of Education (CICE), Dr. Sc.,  Rosa Rosa González Noguera.
The opening lecture, dictated by the Full Professor of this higher studies center,  Dr. Sc., Adolfo Díaz Sardiñas dealt with the education  of the engineer in informatics, his challenges and perspectives.

In this educational process, as he pointed out,  the curricular, political-ideological and extensionist strategy is essential.

The Full Professor captivated the audience with some questions at different moments during his speech. What is the process of computerization of the society, what are the main problems of the country? How does computerization impact on didactics? Do we assume technologies during the educational process?

In that sense, he said that computerization does  not only mean to produce software, "is an edge of that process," he clarified to emphasize upon the integration of processes, knowledge and the need to transform didactics.

After a valuable exchange with the audience, in the Hall of Events of School Building 4, Diaz Sardiñas advocated in his conclusions for a planning of the scientific work in a coherent way, lining up research efforts in each area; he insisted on bringing together young teachers to develop these tasks for transforming the modes of action.

The presentation of papers - about 42 preliminary works – closed the opening day.

Adolfo Díaz: “Informatizar no es solo producir software, es una arista de ese proceso de formación integral”.
