The passion for science has been a constant in the life of Ramón Santana Fernández, a young researcher who graduated from the Special Program of Scientific Training in Computer Science (known as Pefci).

A pleasant conversationalist and a trained memory professor, he refers in the dialogue about his transit through this program in which,  this researcher states that it has as main strength the collaborative character where the aspirants work and collaborate with each other learning with the tutors of the program.

In assessing how much it influenced his training, he considered that it was essential for his professional performance and to evolve his scientific thinking, because it showed him the way in which science is done and how he should direct scientific work to achieve good results.

Santana Fernández added that it is linked to  Pefci from a presentation made by the coordinator of the program Ph.D. Vivian Estrada, while stressing that this relationship changed the way he conceived his professional training and opened the door to a new stage of both scientific and professional training.

His words reflect the pride of the research that earned him the title of Ph.D. of Informatics Sciences, which consisted of information security, fingerprint recognition and the interaction between classical cryptography and biometric cryptography.

Later he commented that the program offered him the possibility of acquiring in a quick and concentrated way the results and all the experiences that are having the other colleagues who are in the same process.

For this researcher, the exchange with specialists from other areas of the University contributed much in this process, which relates the exchange, training and presentation of research.

Endorsed by the Cuban Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment with the mention of Young Investigator in 2016, the vice- director of the Center for Identification and Digital Security combines his administrative performance with a fruitful creative work reflected In the scientific field of our house of high studies.
