This Friday, March 3, was held at the room " Me Dicen Cuba" the commemorative event at the University of Informatics  Sciences (known as UCI) for the fourth anniversary of the death of Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías.

The meeting was presided by Ph.D. Raydel Montesino Perurena, deputy rector of the institution, members of the University Council, and representatives of political and mass organizations.

In paying tribute to Cuba's best friend, the words of the leader of the Cuban Revolution were read in those painful days of the last goodbye to the Supreme Commander: "Today I keep a special memory of the best friend I had in my years as an active politician - who very humble and poor was forged in the Bolivarian Army of Venezuela - Hugo Chávez Frías (...) Even he himself did not suspect how great he was. "

The occasion was favorable to recognize 27 workers of the center for having completed missions in Venezuela and culminating them successfully in 2016 in the Francisco de Miranda Front, in special projects, the Culture Mission and the Health Project.

It was up to Professor María Antonia Montesino Menéndez to express the words of gratitude on behalf of those encouraged. He recalled that many students and workers of the university  have had the immense privilege of contributing their grain in the consolidation of the Bolivarian Revolution in one way or another and added when referring to Chavez:

"It still hurts your leaving. His teachings, his love for Cuba, his respect for Fidel and for Raúl and his example, have been a constant motivation for Cuban collaborators in Venezuela. To have performed simply and modestly with the mission entrusted has been our way of being faithful to his legacy and Fidel's. "

After a cultural moment, the MSc. Silvano Merced Len, vice- rector of University Extension and Residence, pronounced the final words recalling the traditional ties of friendship between Cuba and Venezuela since the days of the Sierra Maestra. He said that one can not speak of one without the other because we felt the same love for our National Hero José Martí when he arrived in Caracas, that without taking the dust off the road, went to pay tribute to Simon Bolivar.

He affirmed that the physical matches of Fidel and Chavez have to serve as an incentive to continue fighting and to remember that Chavez was a great admirer of the Cuban Revolution and of our maximum leader. "May the example of both give us strength to continue building a more solid University on its 15th anniversary," he concluded.
