The Science, Technology and Innovation Forum of the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), which took place on Thursday, June 15, 2017, was inaugurated in School Building 4, dedicated on this occasion to the 15th Anniversary of the foundation of our house of higher studies.

The main purpose of this scientific event was to promote the development and use of computer systems to increase efficiency in different sectors of the economy, production and services, besides strengthening and raising the rigor and quality of the Forum Movement at university level.

There were present in the meeting MSc., Reynaldo Rosado Roselló, Vice-Rector for Production at UCI; Laura Miranda, secretary of the Municipal Forum from La Lisa; Dr. Sc., Omar Correa Madrigal, Research Director of the University; Directors of the University Development Centers and the General Directorate of Production; project leaders and other members of the University Council; students and teachers participating in the exchange.

As a special guest, Dr Sc., Francisco Borrás Atiénzar delivered the scientific lecture "Management of intangibles in organizations: a look at the computer industry", a research he has been doing for 12 years, because he said – “what is not tangible is difficult to measure, which does not mean that it is not important.”

The lecturer is a Full Professor at the University of Havana and at the National School of Leaders, President of the National Board of the Doctorate in Accounting and Financial Sciences of the Republic of Cuba, and researcher of the Studies Center of the Cuban Economy. He has received numerous prizes and awards and has also published several books.

The scientific debates in commissions were carried out in the classrooms from School Building 5; they were divided into three subjects: Computing, automation and communication; different themes, and Pedagogy, didactics and the use of ICT in teaching.

Correa Madrigal said that the Forum of Science and Technology is set to be an important moment for Cuban universities, as it is a significant element to continue making progress in the management of scientific knowledge.
