As part of the activities planned during the Festival of the Butterflies, organized by the Malatesta sociocultural project which is held  until November 25th ,  at the University of Informatics Sciences (known as UCI) developed   on Wednesday afternoon, November 23rd  a talk about  Vilma Espín Guillois, at the gallery of the Cultural Center Wifredo Lam of this institution.

The third edition of this Festival is dedicated to the heroine and eternal president, since its foundation in 1960, of the Federation of Cuban Women (known as FMC), who left its imprint on the history of Cuba for all the merits she  accumulated during her  life as a Member of the 26th of July Movement and later in all activities of the triumph and consolidation of the Cuban Revolution.

In the conversation were invited Alicia Martínez Loan, personal assistant of Vilma; Tamara Colombié Matos and Hortensia Dimingo Salgado, both officials of the national FMC, in addition to the participants in this meeting.

A trip to  the life of this tireless fighter was narrated by her colleagues who made a quick tour of different aspects of the social and personal activities of this woman, who was the second to graduate from Industrial Chemical Engineering in Cuba and who would have liked to have been a doctor or aviator; But for always being in  her  beloved Santiago de Cuba she chose this university career.

In the same way, we talked about the life-long work of the creator of the Children's Circles, the Sexual Education Group - now the National Center for Sex Education (Cenesex) - the Orientation houses for women and the family and many others that would be innumerable to mention by the light of future of the thought of Vilma.

During the meeting the participants were also interested in knowing the relationship of Vilma and Raul, an infinite love that emerged in the Second Eastern Front, as well as the work of this great woman in her fight against discrimination against women and violence , told by her  closest companions.

The meeting ended with great experiences, emotions, teachings and memories for a lifetime, which left this great revolutionary in others who were side by side, manifesting the pride of having worked with Vilma
