With the FEU ++ conference, it began the preparation of the brigade presidents to perform better their duties, at the University of Informatics Sciences (known as UCI) on Thursday, March 9th, at teaching building 4 of this institution.
At the meeting, the president of the University Student Federation (FEU) in this house of high studies, Arlenis González Rodríguez, exchanged with the participants on best practices to prepare and develop meetings with the brigade, as well as the proposed plan of activities for this second semester. It also showed the spending behavior of some indicators of the budget allocated to the University.
The event was attended by the hero of the Republic of Cuba, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, who was welcome between applause and an audiovisual material that showed moments of his arrival in the homeland accompanied by Antonio Guerrero and Ramón Labañino.
The Vice-Rector of the International Institute of International Relations Raúl Roa García (ISRI), participated in the conversation "Pride of being Cuban" where he narrated his experiences in El Hueco. He spoke about the infinite joy they felt when they were informed that they were returning to their homeland and about the video conference they had with Cuba before boarding the flight that brought them back, to review all legal aspects of the release of him and his brothers.
In the same way, Gerardo narrated his experiences in American prisons, the story of the sparrow in his cell and the name with which they were baptized in prison: Cuba. He reported, with brief but moving words, the great confidence they always had in Fidel, the Revolution and the Cuban people who were always active in the struggle for the liberation of the Five.
He thanked the UCI for exchanging missives with them and joining this cause. Finally he said that this country is unique and that it is worth sacrificing to continue defending it because there is no other equal.
As a result of this exchange Gerardo was given a recognition signed by all those attending the event and a present to remember his visit.
The meeting also announced the program for the Feu 95 Anniversary Campaign, Maylin Alberti Arozarena was also presented as the UJC's first secretary in the province of Havana, visiting too our center, and there was an exchanged on the possible activities that the UCI can propose or perform as a contribution to this celebration campaign that has already begun.
