Just four days away from the beginning of the simultaneous global video game development (Global Game Jam) at UCI, School 4 assessed the achievement of the objectives set in 2017, in a meeting chaired by the Dean Dr. Sc. Dunia María Colomé Cedeño, faculty professors and specialists of the School’s Development Centers.

The assessment meeting analyzed the “journey” of the school improvement along the undergraduate education area, the postgraduate and research, the management of human resources and the commercialization of solutions, as well as the impact of projects in the society, through a descriptive report.

According to the report, the school shows progress in the categorization of teachers, the participation of students in national events such as the Global Game Jam and Pachamama, and the impact of extension projects.

School 4, roughly speaking, also designed the execution of projects in its four research groups, a catalog of more than 18 postgraduate courses, the association of more than three national research projects to Citma programs and the publishing of more than seven articles in first level magazines as well 11 in second level.

Yet, according to the report, the school still has some gaps to fill concerning the development of its scientific potential, the student's dissatisfaction with the optional curriculum in the professional practice and in the fulfillment of the educational strategy.

The debate reflected that School 4 keeps its feet, hands and conscience on the strategic projection for 2018.

By the end of the meeting, recognition diplomas were awarded to teachers with the best academic and research results during the past year. The promotions to academic ranks and a mention award given to a student stand out as part of this praising ceremony.
