Among innovators with so many years of experience and recognition, people looked at Adonis González Santos as the youngest of this extended family. This young boy from Pinar del Río province  is only 27 years old and the capacity of the creators, for which he already won the Prize for Greater Economic and Social Impact.

From its position in the Agency of Research and Development Applied to Geomatics, in the city of Pinar del Río, SIG Combustible was born, a System of Geographic Information for the control of the Fuel, that today is in many companies of the economy.

The savings from planning and efficient control of transport, routes, and documents related to this activity are some of the advantages of this program that has Adonis as the main author.

"It came from a tool of our internal control, which liked several customers. But in the FAR there are adjustments on how to take the energy carriers that are different from the institutions of the economy, "says Adonis.

The development group of its center had software that did not meet all the requirements of other entities, but with the experience and know-how to, with the base of this, give life to a new product. Together with a group of colleagues, this graduate engineer from the University of infromatics Science (known as UCI) programmed the different modules, although he was the fundamental one.

"We set ourselves the task of developing a computer system that links other systems that we had to, in a computerized way, obtain shorter routes and distance tables, elements highly demanded by the transport specialties. We relate the aspect of the geographic information with the part of management, specifically of the fuel, and linked to this, the whole transport part with the orders of work in workshop.

"This takes the planning of the magnetic cards when they are carried to the load. We talked about the complete carriage tracking, ie, hours of route, single annex, maintenance plans. From these primary records, a series of reports are carried out, which are mainly provided by the entities of the economy to their higher organizations or the Osde, "explains Adonis.

In his company, for example, do not fear the famous closures of fuel consumption. With the introduction of the data daily they manage to complete, in just one day, a cumbersome liquidation process that took a few days to complete. With the automated process the information is already registered and consumes less time.

From the introduction of the itinerary by the user it is possible to create optimal routes, and generation of distance tables, with substantial benefits in terms of planning expenses.

After more than a year and a half in application is in several centers with good results. Adonis and another group of colleagues are in charge of the facilities and provide the training.

"It is used in the Union of Railways of Cuba, the Commodity Commodities of Havana, Unión Molinera de Cuba, among other entities. We provide training and follow up; In addition we make adjustments according to the needs of each one, concludes Adonis.
