
The University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) and the Latin American School of Medicine (Elam) strengthened ties of cooperation on Tuesday with the signing of an agreement aimed at strengthening relations in scientific and academic matters.
The signing of the agreement was in charge of the rector of UCI, Dr.C. Walter Baluja García and Dra.C. Heidy Cantillo Vento, director of International Affairs of Elam, in the presence of executives from both instances.
During the exchange, which took place in the protocol room of the medical sciences institution, the possibility of expanding the use of technology in the academic area in correspondence with Elam's needs was analyzed.
Under this agreement, it is planned to install computer systems in the polyclinics of this center, the development of the virtual professorship and the training of specialists of different profiles.
The meeting also focused on the work they can do together, taking advantage of the potential of each center in the spheres of education, science and university extension.
During the signing of the agreement the executives of the medical university highlighted that this understanding with UCI it is an achievement for their institution, which will enable several systems developed by our higher education center to be installed in Elam.
On the other side, Dr. C. Walter Baluja Garcia pointed out the importance of these agreements for the development of scientific results, which are achieved through the exchange of experiences.
This rapprochement between both houses of high studies responds to a mutual interest to assess the needs of development in the fields of education, science and university extension.
