The Room of Events, located in teaching building 4 of the University of Informatics Sciences (known as UCI) was the setting for this house of high studies to present the campaign for its 15th Anniversary.
The MSc. Alicia Senra Mugica, General Director of Communication at the institution, welcomed all those attending the meeting recalling the memorable date of March 23rd, when 15 years ago our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz conceived the first ideas about the great project that served to become in the UCI.
She added that the date was chosen to present a summary of the main activities that make up this campaign, whose central slogan is "15 years connected to the future, connected to the Revolution."
Among the initiatives highlighted were the spot for the 15th Anniversary, the presentation of the new University portal on the Internet, the promotion of visits to the History Room, the production of articles, reports, publicity and interviews in the media, both own and Provincial and national.
Likewise, the Director General of Communication called for the creation of mobile applications to learn about the history of the UCI, conferences and meetings with founders, among many other activities.
She stressed the importance of each working department and student group to design their own plan of activities to reinforce the communication campaign for this festivity
The new web portal of the UCI on the internet was presented by the Director of Institutional Communication, Ing. Rislaidy Pérez Ramos, who acknowledged the work done by the Development Centers, directorates and areas that collaborated in every detail to obtain a final quality product.
Also, Pérez Ramos presented a summary of all the preliminary study that was carried out and the structure that owns the site, which has as outstanding a virtual walk, all the photographs that make up our History Room, the management of the postgraduate courses that are taught in the Schools of Summer and Winter and the detailed view of our products and services. He made a very quick tour of each section to explain the functioning of the site.
Meanwhile, the MSc. Alexander Rodriguez Mompié, Director of Informatization, briefly explained the work deployed by his team to develop the new portal using the software technologies currently used internationally.
To conclude the meeting Senra Mugica said that this is a worthy tribute to the memory of our eternal Commander-in-Chief, creator of the project that will continue to defend the ideas of the Cuban Revolution on every place that is necessary.
