With an arduous work and dedication, the engineer  Yailín Simón Mir, a senior specialist in the Department of Institutional Communication of the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI), completed the first season of PequeCiudad. The radio program will air on February 1st , 2017 by Radio Ciudad Digital (RCD), every Wednesday at seven in the morning with a duration of ten minutes.

In addition to being the promoter of the original idea, Simón Mir is the director of the program, who plans to become a community project, and it  is accompanied by the digital city  radio  team composed by José Manuel Castellanos Macías as an advisor and speaker with Ariadni Fernández Álvarez; Alberto Romero Grimat who  is in charge of the recording and editing, and María Teresa Muñoz Borrego, will be responsible for its publication in InterNos.

Taking into account the explanation  of the group, which we addressed during a work meeting prior to the official departure of the program, PequeCiudad had its premier to introduce the children and see if they liked and received the desired acceptance. A special issue was also made during the mourning period for Fidel's physical disappearance, in which the children expressed their feelings about the loss of the leader of the Cuban Revolution as a way for the younger generation of the UCI   pay posthumous homage to him.

The first season, which has from six to seven programs, was recorded during the Marti´s journey, so it was dedicated to José Martí, with works of The Golden Age. Directed to a public preferably between the ages of four and ten, Each season deals with a specific author, with the dynamics of providing a musical theme, a literary work and a section, which is the didactic part, where children talk about the story or poem presented

The original of PequeCiudad is that it is a sui generis proposal. Up to now, there was no program in the University aimed at the children's audience and it is carried out by children who during th recording process are given workshops that contribute to their training, as they are taught good practices and how they should talk on the radio. In addition, the works are tested as if it were a play, so that they are identified and then recorded.

The group of realization has great expectations and desires to release a different product. We wish this project to succeed and despite of all, to have the acceptance from  the audience.
